Perhaps I shouldn’t be left alone?

Well here I go again, not been on this blog for 18 years and within seconds I’ve gone and spent money I don’t have on something I don’t need, a domain name and web space. I did it via WordPress but there ya go. As of today the domain for The Dog’s Blog, is now at http://www.bloggingthe.dog Woohoo.

Actually, part of the concern for spending money I don’t have, isn’t just that I have no money, it’s because I’m borderline bipolar, in fact I was diagnosed as Type II Bipolar, also knows as Bipolar 11 (surprise!). This form of the disorder doesn’t have the usual mood swings associated with manic-depression, but is more characterised by having had one ‘manic’ episode in their life and associated then with a constant depressive state.

Over the years I’ve tried various medications, as one does, but currently I’m taking both Valdoxan and Lamictal to keep myself going. And, miracles, they’re doing their job. Maybe not as intensely as I’d like but well enough for me to keep trucking on. If you’d like more info I suggest looking the disorder up at Bipolar II Disorder.

Before I go, I should say that I’m a lot better organised now than I’ve been thru the rest of my life, but still say and do some weird things. Working on it tho!! 🙂

It’s been a long, long time since I last made an attempt to start this new blog. I suppose it *is* new, because I’ve written next to nothing over the past… err… 18 years?? Anyway, I’ve recently started writing in a “sister” blog (eclecticinterweb) about my struggles with my weight and the action I’m taking to combat it… hopefully before it’s too late.

Anyway, I figure if I can sit in there and ramble away to myself, why not do it in a different blog, which I just happen to have handy, i.e. “The Dog’s Blog”. Now, if it hasn’t been made obvious by now, I’ve never taken much notice of the old place, but I think this is going to change. From now on I’m going to make an effort to keep the place updated… I might even try to buy a domain for it so it’s out there on the actual web! 🙂

So… here we go… well ok, maybe not straight away, I need something to write about, but since I can never shut up, I’m sure it won’t take long. If nothing personal to mumble over, there’s a ton of news I can write about.

So what do we do with our space?

I have a pretty clear idea what to do with the other blogs I have. On one (Opinion Australia) I write day to day happenings… discuss things I read in the papers etc etc… just boring stuff.

On the other (ODPS-Forum) I basically discuss things specific to my ‘main site (The Online Dictionary of Playground Slang) which is a collection of slang – about 4,000 words… along with games kids play is school, playground song lyrics… and perhaps bizarrely, a collection of lyrics to songs sung at Rugby gatherings… ‘Hymns and Arias’ basically.

Each of these sites has a purpose.. and they are good at it. My problem is knowing what to do with *this* one. I have the idea it *could* be handy… I’m just not sure exactly what for. Maybe it’ll develop slowly and form a purpose over time. We’ll see 🙂

Well ok… mea cupla… I’ve not exactly been a frequent visitor to my own blog. This is… real life got in the way… plus I had to update my other sites… e.g. http://www.odps.org a.k.a. the Online Dictionary of Playground Slang… and that’s my main site. I love it 🙂

I also set up another blog at http://www.opinionaustralia.com which is based around WordPress… very easy to use is WordPress… and powerful too! I’ve only just started looking at it but it’s not bad 🙂 The last site is also a ‘blog… but is really a forum/blog site for the ODPS (above) and I’ve not finished setting it up properly yet – for example the theme is a but off… and there are no graphics of logos… still I’m getting there!

As for ‘Spaces’… well now I’ve been told how easy it is to get to from the Messenger window I expect I’ll drop in far more regularly.

Don’t we??

Well ok… a blog’s a blog and that’s that but it might be nice to have a space to upload this that and the other. And… well ok I have enough websites available so I could use them… but what the hell… this is new… it’s free… and I’m here.

What can you expect?? Well probably not a lot… I’ll meander in now and then add a few notes then sod off until the mood takes me again. In the past I’ve added notes on news items…. my daily doings… points of controversy and/or interest…. of interest to me naturally 🙂 but why ramble about what I’m *going* to say… why not just get on with it? Ok. here goes.
